Plump, glossy lips are just a few shakes away thanks to Lancôme’s brand new range of glosses.
A few weeks back, the Lancôme counter in Fenwick celebrated these dinky new arrivals with an afternoon of fruity drinks and demos.
A cross between the iconic Cocktail Shaker lipstick from the 1940s and its Juicy Tube lipgloss from the early 2000s (one of my all-time favourite beauty products), the Juicy Shaker injects some fun back into your make-up regime.
All you have to do is shake; the more intense the desired colour, the more you shake the bottle to transfer the ultra shiny lip colour on to the sponge-like cushion applicator.
There’s 13 gorgeous rainbow bright shades to choose from and they have some rather cute names too – Vanilla Pop, Cherry Symphony and Walk the Lime are three of my favourites.
Whether you’re after a subtle sheen or a highly pigmented tone, there’s a colour for every lip, come day or night. My top pick is Boomeringue – a candy pink tone that gives a soft pop of colour. It’s on my payday treat list.
There’s also a limited edition shade to get your hands on called Mint To Be. It’s bright blue in the bottle, but don’t panic, Lancôme isn’t experimenting with some off-brand alien-esque look. This quirky formula actually applies a shimmering, translucent gloss on to your lips which, apparently, makes your teeth look whiter. Bonus.
Something else to mention is the scent. I do love a lippy that combines a burst of colour with a luscious smell – make-up isn’t just about the finished look, it’s about the experience of applying it, too. Watermelon, candy, lemon…you’ll find some of the most mouthwateringly delicious smells, making them good enough to eat, or at the very least, lick off your lips.
The glosses promise to keep your lips kissably soft and nourished too; crammed with a blend of sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil. Perfect if you endlessly suffer from dry lips, like me.
What I particularly love about the new Shakers though is their non-stick formula. There’s nothing worse than being outdoors and contending with strands of your hair glued onto your mouth!
So, in the words of Lupita Nyong’o who fronts the campaign for the new range: Shake it! Love it!
The Juicy Shaker lip glosses are priced at £18. Drop into the Fenwick Beauty Hall to try them out for yourself!
